Biography of Ross Montgomery
2004 ASHRAE Florida West Coast Engineer of the Year


Mr. Ross Montgomery is President of Quality Systems Technology, a company he founded in 1998, which currently is located in Bradenton, Florida. His company is a representative for Honeywell controls, and is supplying controls and technical support throughout the west coast of Florida.

Ross has been a member of ASHRAE since 1981. He is a registered P.E. in the state of Florida since 1982, and a certified mechanical and electrical contractor. He also holds certifications for Energy Management and IAQ Investigations. Ross started ASHRAE as a student member in the Florida west coast chapter in 1981, and is now a full member of ASHRAE.

Ross was also instrumental in starting the Southwest Florida ASHRAE chapter and served as their Chapter President in 1985. On the society level of ASHRAE, Ross is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Region XII, and has served in many capacities at society. His involvement with society keeps him very busy and currently has him traveling quite frequently to South America, where he is currently working to establish a new ASHRAE section in Argentina. He has also performed consulting and training services in the field for many cities throughout not only Florida, but South America as well.

Ross is a Florida native, originally from Jacksonville. He is a graduate from the University of South Florida, where he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from the University of South Florida in 1982 he began work full time with Mechanical Controls Corporation where he served in sales of controls for over 17 years, until starting his own company, Quality Systems Technology.
